Graveside
services for Mrs. Wilda K. Filkins, 78, of Nampa, who died
Friday Aug. 5, 1994, at her home, will be conducted at 10:30
a.m. Tuesday Aug. 9, 1994, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell. Rev. Tom Larson of the Nampa First United
Methodist church will officiate. Services are under the
direction of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Wilda Kneedler Filkins was born on Jan. 4, 1916, in Davis
County, Iowa, to John W. and Myrtle B. Clark Kneedler.
She moved with her parents to Colorado and then to Gardner,
Kansas in 1926 where she attended school and graduated from
high school in 1934. She married Henry Filkins on Sept.
15, 1946, at her parents' home in Gardner. She came to
Nampa in October of that same year where she has since made
her home.
She was a member of Nampa First United Methodist Church and a
member of the United Methodist Women. She has been an
active member of the Union Pacific Junior Old Timers Club #18
and served as the local club president as well as serving all
the offices of the Union Pacific JOT General Committee.
She was a member of the Union Pacific Union Pacific Old
Timer's Club #14.
She is survived by her husband, Henry L. Filkins, Nampa; a
brother, Irvin C. Kneedler of Gardner, Kan.; and many living
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and
two sisters.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9
p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Nampa 'first United Methodist
Church Building Fund, 404 12th Ave. S., Nampa, ID 83651. |
