Amelia Phillips

    Amelia Ann Phillips Leach, 59, of Nampa, died Friday, January 29, 1993, at the Nampa hospital.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 1993, at Nampa Bethel Church of the Nazarene.  Rev. Roy A. Litsey, pastor of the church will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Amelia was born on February 6, 1933, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to John Wilson and Lucy Annabelle Lee Phillips.  She was reared and educated in Biloxi and attended the First Church of the Nazarene there.  She married Lawrance Leach on August 4, 1948, in Biloxi, where they made their home.  They later lived in California and Texas.  In 1970 they moved to Nampa where they have since resided.  She was a member of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene and the Nampa Art Guild.  She loved oil painting, writing and singing.  She had sung with several different groups.  Her main goal in life was to see her whole family in Heaven.  She always tried to build up and encourage her friends and her family to do their best.  Her ministry was encouragement and prayer.  She wanted to see everyone she knew in Heaven. "We love you mom, and we will see you at home."
    Amelia is survived by her husband Lawrance of Nampa; 4 daughters and their husbands, Ramona Lorraine and Ross Jones, Nampa, Laura Ann and John Sandidge, Chignik Bay, Alaska, Melody Faith and Lewis Chavez, Nampa, and Melissa Gay and Edward Tilley, Nampa; 1 son, John Harland Leach, Boise; 3 brothers, Don Phillips, J.W. Phillips and Midill Simmons, all of Biloxi, Mississippi; 1 sister, Bethel Walley, Biloxi; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Lawrance Jr. in 1956, and 13 brothers and sisters.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    The family suggests memorial contributions to Bethel Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 1423 2nd St. S., Nampa, Idaho 83651; or flowers may be sent.
