Funeral services for A.L. Lewis, 77, of 524 E. Hawaii Ave., Nampa, who died Friday, Feb. 18, at his
home, will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday at the College Church
of the Nazarene with the Rev. Clarence J. Kinzler, pastor of
the church, officiating. Interment
will follow in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Services and
interment are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral
Chapel.
He was born on July 3, 1905 at Bonham, Texas,
where he was reared and educated.
In 1931 he moved to
New Mexico and was married to Lillian Bendinger
on July 22, 1933 at
Portales,
New Mexico and they would have
celebrated their 50th weddning anniversary in July of this
year.
They moved to Nampa in 1942 where they made their home.
He worked as a
painter for various contractors in the valley before going
to work for Birdseye as a painter retiring in 1970.
He
is survived by his wife of Nampa; a son, Albert L. Lewis,
Jr., Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; two daughters, E. Joan Bean,
Visalia, Calif. and Mrs. Ron (Lynell) Van Order, Meridian;
three sisters, Mrs. Calvin (Alpha) Emerson, Nampa, Mrs. Roy
(Ella) Franks, Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Ida Mae
Alexander, Elmer, Okla.; and five grandsons.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
