Delbert Jones

    Delbert George Jones, 90, of Nampa, died Thursday, April 25, 1991, at his home of natural causes.
    Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Dennis Brock of Bend, Ore., son-in-law of Mr. Jones, will officiate. Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Delbert was born on Feb. 12, 1901, at Watseka, Ill., to William John and Caroline Ann Francis Steele Jones. The family moved to western Nebraska in 1906. In 1922 he met and married Dorothy Ione Lohr. The couple resided there until 1941 at which time he moved the family to Nampa. In August of 1942, Delbert went to work for Asgrow Seed Co. He worked there until retirement in March 1966.
    After retirement, much of his time was spent fishing and gardening which he enjoyed.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Nampa; three sons and daughters-in-law, George and Francis Jones of Mountain Home, Keith and Jean Jones of Nampa and Dayton and Janna Jones of Harrisburg, Ore.; one daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Dennis Brock of Bend, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by four stepbrothers, one stepsister, two brothers, one sister, a son, Marley and a baby daughter.
