Gladys Knight

    Services for Gladys Knight, 84, Nampa, who died Friday, Nov. 8, at a Nampa nursing home will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel.  The Rev. David E. Guard, pastor of the Nampa Southside Boulevard United Methodist Church will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    Mrs. Knight was born April 30, 1901, at Cleveland, Mo., where she was reared and educated.  She married Frank A. Knight Nov, 1, 1922, at Kansas City, Kan.  They farmed near Bucyrus, Kan., until 1927 when they moved to a ranch near Moore, Idaho.  In 1946 they came to the Nampa area.  They farmed in Nampa until his retirement in 1967.  They moved into town that same year.  Her husband died Sept. 18, 1979, and she has resided in Nampa since.
    Mrs. Knight was a member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church and a member of the Nampa Grange.
    She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Opal Young of Cleveland, Mo., and Mrs. Iva Chiles, Blytheville, Ark.; three nephews. Lyle Young of Kansas City, Mo., Merlin Chiles of Greenbrae, Calif., and Jim Chiles of Midland, Texas.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, today until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to noon.
    Memorials may be made to the Idaho Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 435, Rupert, 83350, or flowers may be sent.
