Jolene Lenz

    Jolene O. Lenz, 61, of Melba, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 1990, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Meridian.
    Funeral services will be held at p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Melba 2nd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Bishop Virgil Christensen will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Melba Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Jolene was born March 13, 1929, at Rupert, Idaho, a daughter of John and Ethel Loveland Orton.  At a young age she moved to Burley with her family, where she was reared and educated, graduting (sic) from Burley High School.  After high school she moved to Kansas City, Mo., where she graduated from Kansas City Airline School.  After graduation she moved to Nampa.  She married David W. Lenz Feb. 27, 1954, at Nampa.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.  They farmed south of Nampa for several years and in 1968 moved to Melba where they continued farming.   Jolene worked at Scism School for several years, and had been a member of the Scism Club.
    She was a very active member of the Melba 2nd Ward LDS Church, where she held numerous positions.  She had also been involved in the Stake Relief Society, the Ward Relief Society and the Young Women's organization.
    Mrs. Lenz loved camping, sewing and cooking for her family.  She was a very special person to all her nieces and nephews.
    Survivors include her husband, David of Melba; a son and his wife, Greg and Linda Lenz of Idaho Falls; three daughters, Teresa (Mrs. Stanley) Svedin of Melba, Lisa (Mrs. Derk) Heiner of Bountiful, Utah, and Katauna J. Lenz of Melba; three sisters, Zelma O. Hatch of Burley, Merla Coulam of Kaysville, Utah; and Glenna Jenks of Mesa, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
    Jolene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend to all.
    The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity, or flowers may be sent.
    The family will greet friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, and Saturday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the Melba 2nd Ward LDS Church.
