Leonard Knowlton

    Graveside services for Leonard Henry Knowlton, 75, of Nampa who died Wednesday, March 4, at a Nampa care center, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    The Rev. Leo W. Reed, pastor of the Nampa First Baptist Church, will officiate, under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.
    Mr. Knowlton was born Dec. 21, 1911, at Lebanon, S.D., to Hillary and Josephine Lamb Knowlton.  He was reared and educated at Alexandria, Neb., graduating from high school in 1929.
    He married Helen Goodman in August 1932 at Washington, Kan., and they made their home in Nampa.
    He went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1936.  He retired as a locomotive engineer in 1976 and they had resided in Nampa since.
    He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two daughters, Patricia Bradley of Nampa and Marilyn (Mrs. Max ) Nunenkamp of Fairfax Station, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Karen Knowlton and Dennis and June Knowlton, all of Boise; two sisters, Nettie Craig of Fairbury, Neb., and Ruby Sharpe of Seward, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother and several sisters.
    Friends may call at the Nam-pa Alsip chapel Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to noon.
