Mary Winifred Jones, 92, of Eugene, Ore., and formerly of
Nampa, died Oct. 28, 1996, at Eugene of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2,
at Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Private burial will be at
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mary was born Jan. 24, 1904, at Madison, Neb., to John and
Mary LaCornu. She married Elmer Jones in North Platte, Neb.,
on Aug. 25, 1928. He died in 1989.
She lived in Kearney, Neb., from 1928 to 1935. She moved to
Eugene from Nampa in 1991. A homemaker, she was a member of
the River Road Church of Christ in Eugene.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and
Gene Riley of Nampa; daughter, Evelyn Wells of Eugene; a
son, David Jones of Fremont, Calif.; 7 grandchildren, Debbie
Heckert, Janet Cheek, and Gary Wells of Eugene, Karen Wells
of Springfield, Ore., Steven Riley of Nampa, Terry Riley of
Caldwell, and Peggy Yeager of Meridian; 12
great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Wells; a
son-in-law, Merritt Wells; and a daughter-in-law, Dianne
Jones.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 1, at
Alsip Funeral Chapel.
