Vance Leavitt of Sherwood, Oregon, died July 17, 1993, of
accidental drowning while at Rock-A-Way Beach on the Oregon
Coast. Mr. Leavitt
was born July 6, 1951, at Moses Lake, Washington, the son of
Woodrow and Mildred (Antrium) Leavitt.
graduated from Nampa High School,
then went to the College
of Idaho in
Caldwell, where he graduated cum
laude with a bachelor of science degree in 1976.
On August 14,
1976, he married Deena D. Slaughter.
They lived in Nampa where his son, Tyler, was born on August 10, 1981,
and then moved to
Oregon, in 1984, where his
daughter Dara Dawn was born on August 11, 1989.
He was a
supervisor with the R & H Construction Company where he had
worked for the past 8 years.
He was a member
of the Sons of The American Legion Post #56.
He was also a member
of the Sherwood Robin Hood Elks Club BPOE #2342.
He was very active
with the Boy Scouts. He
enjoyed golfing. His
main joy in life was his family.
He is survived by
his wife, Deena D. Leavitt of Sherwood,
Ore.; 2 children, Tyler and Kara
Leavitt, both of Sherwood; his mother, Mildred Hollingsworth
of Caldwell; 1 sister, Judy Badoni of Caldwell; and 2
brothers, Mathew Leavitt of Caldwell and Daniel Leavitt of
preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Leavitt.
services will be held Saturday, July 24, 1993, at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park,
Caldwell, auspices of the Nampa BPOE Lodge #1389.
In lieu of
flowers, donations may be sent to the Boy Scouts, Sherwood
Troop #224 and the Meadowood Springs Speech and Hearing Camp
for children through the Sherwood Robin Hood Elks #2342,

Given in memory
of Randy Leavitt's involvement and love for his family and
children, a memorial service will be held at the Sherwood
Robin Hood Elks #2342 at a later date.
