Stephen J. "Steve" Limani Sr.

    Stephen J. Limani Sr., 65, of Boise, formerly of Nampa, died of cancer on Thursday, May 30, 1996, at the home of his son, Randy Limani.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm. Monday, June 3, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Father Alfred Puccinelli, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa, will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
    Steve was born March 5, 1931, at Dunmore, Pa., to James V. and Florence E. Limani.  He was reared and educated in Dunmore.  He married Helen Sica on Dec. 8, 1948, at Scranton, Pa.  He then entered the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict.  He was an MP for most of his military career.
    He was honorably discharged and returned to Pennsylvania.  Steve and Helen lived in Michigan, Texas, Delaware, New Jersey, and later moved to California where he started in the automotive repair business.  The family returned to Pennsylvania, and in 1974, moved to Nampa to make their home.  On July 1. 1977, Steve and Helen opened Steve's Phillips 66 station in Nampa, which they owned and operated for several years.  They worked together at the station until his retirement.  Through the years, their customers became their friends.  Helen passed away May 12, 1993.
    Steve was a loving-husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  
    He was a member of the Catholic Church.
    He is survived by a daughter, Rose-Mary Arvish and her husband, Al of  Boise; five sons, Stephen Jr. and his wife, Debra of Nampa, Anthony of Nampa, Randall and his wife, Katie of Boise, Erick and his wife, Karen of Boise, Marty and his wife, Mary of Boise; one brother, Rudolph Limani of Trenton, N.J.; one sister, Antoinette Palumbo of Trenton; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    The family greatly appreciates the assistance from Hospice of Boise, the love and support of Bea Zator of Pennsylvania, and to the many friends and relatives Thank-you!
    Friends may call this evening from 5 to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 9 am. to 8 p.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel.
    The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Boise, 151 E. Bannock St., Boise 83712-6297; or flowers may be sent.
