Funeral services for Walter R. King, 78, of
Boise and formerly of Nampa, who died Sunday, Feb. 1991, at his home
following an extended illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Burial will follow
in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
Mr.
King was born Feb. 22, 1913, at Great Falls, Mont.
He was reared and
educated at Boys Town in
Omaha,
Neb.
He later returned to
Great Falls for a short time before moving to
Southern California.
In 1945 he invented
the pickup camper as we know it today.
He owned and
operated a RV plant in Southern California, where he manufactured several
different RV products. In
1959 he moved to
Nampa where he owned and operated the
Sport King Manufacturing plant.
He married Angeline
Lavin in 1966. In
1987 they moved to Boise to make their home.
Walter is survived by his wife, Angie King, Boise; a
daughter, Sandra King Clark, Newport Beach, Calif.; two
stepsons, Rick and Lorin Lavin, both of Boise; a sister,
Della Purnell, Great Falls, Mont.; a brother, Michael King
in Oregon; and a grandson, Beau King Brayton, Newport Beach.
The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite
charity.
