Ella McDonald

    Services for Ella G. McDonald, 82, of Caldwell Route 10, who died Tuesday, Sept. 27, at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Jim McMillan of the Caldwell Free Methodist Church.
    Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
    She was born May 20, 1901, at St. Paul, Neb., a daughter of William and Elizabeth Layher.  She was reared and educated in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Normal College.  She married O.M. McDonald on Nov. 6, 1920, in Grand Island, Neb., and the couple made their home in Nebraska until moving to Caldwell in 1949.  They operated Lake Lowell Service on Karcher Road for several years and later built Mac's Service near Lake Lowell.  Mr. McDonald died in 1968 in Caldwell.
    She was a member of Deer Flat Free Methodist Church and the Lake Lowell Ladies' Club.
    She is survived by a son, Orland E. McDonald of Greenleaf ; a daughter, Mrs. Eldon ( Virginia ) L. Post of Parma; a brother, Ralph Layher of North Loop, Neb.; a sister, Mabel Winfrey of Grand Island, Neb.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
    Friends may call at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, from 1 until 8 p.m. today.
    Memorials may be given to the Deer Flat Free Methodist Church or flowers may be sent.
