Services for Mary
Ellen Martin, 60, of Nampa, who died Monday, March 2, in Boardman, Ore.,
of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kuna
Third Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Deer Flat Road.
Bishop Dennis
Wells of the ward will officiate.
Burial will follow
at the Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens, under the direction of the
Alsip Funeral Chapel,
Nampa.
Mrs. Martin was
born June 28, 1926, at Nevada, Mo., to Alfred and Mary Tyner Spence.
At a young age she
moved to Roberts, Idaho, with her family.
They later came to
Nampa, where she was reared and
educated.
After her schooling she worked as a secretary for Lee Cook
in Nampa
and later for the Nampa Safeway store for several years.
She married Lewis
A. Martin Jan. 11, 1948, at Winnemucca, Nev., and they
made their home in
Nampa.
Their marriage was
solemnized Aug. 26, 1959, at the
Idaho Falls
LDS Temple.
She worked
for Minor-Breckon in Nampa then, on March 1,
1969, went to work as a secretary for the Nampa Highway
District, where she was employed at the time of her death.
She was a
member of the Kuna
Third
Ward LDS
Church, where she was on
the Sunday school board and had held several positions in
the church.
She is survived by her husband of Nampa; two sons, Darrus D.
Martin of Blackfoot and Kelly C. Martin of Nampa; two
daughters, Ardyth L. Graham of Aloha, Ore., and Denise A.
Cottle of Centerville, Utah; three brothers, Alfred E.
Spence of Aberdeen, Miss., Albert A. Spence of Sedona,
Ariz.: and Ralph W. Spence of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Iona
Elberta Smith of Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wade
Martin; and a sister, Edith.
Friends may call
at the Nampa Alsip chapel today from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday
from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday at the Kuna Third Ward from
Ito 1:45 p.m.
