Patricia Marie McKinney, 67, of Caldwell, died Monday, May 31, 1994, at Hagelin Hospice
House, Nampa.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 4 p.m.
Friday, June 3, 1994, at Canyon Hill Cemetery,
Caldwell.
Rev. Lowell Byall of
the First United Presbyterian Church,
Nampa
will officiate. Services
are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. McKinney was born July 15, 1926, at
Glenwood, Washington, to Albert and Hulda Schlichtig.
As a child she moved
to Harrison, Montana,
where she graduated from high school May 19, 1944.
She became employed
by the U.S. Weather Service and worked in
Seattle, Butte,
Montana, Boise
and Meacham and
Roseburg, Oregon. She
later returned to Helena,
Montana, where she attended Business College
and then worked for the telephone company and later, the
Veterans Administration. She
also attended college in
Missoula, Montana, for a short time.
She married Wilbur McKinney, January 11, 1963, at
Helena, Montana, where she was again working for the
weather service. They
moved to Santa Maria, California,
in 1983 and came to
Caldwell
in 1984 where they had since resided.
Mrs. McKinney was an American Red Cross volunteer and had
served on the Board of the American Red Cross.
She loved sewing and
bird watching — she had sighted and identified 590 species
of birds and served regularly on the Christmas bird count in
Montana
and helped with bird counts for the Fish and Wildlife
Service. She
attended the First United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Wilbur of Caldwell; a
step-daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Steve Marshall of Caldwell; her grandsons, Nicholas and Paul Marshall of Caldwell; a brother and his spouse, Daniel and Evelyn
Schlichtig of Canyon Country,
California; and several nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
