Albert Overton
Graveside funeral services for Albert T. Overton, 60, of
2318 Oak St., Nampa, who died Sunday at his home following
an extended illness, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday
in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Richard O. Reneau
of Nampa Fellowship Tabernacle Church, under the direction
of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Friends may meet at
the cemetery. He was born Dec. 22,
1920, in Springfield, Ill, He moved with his parents
to Chicago, where he was reared and educated. He
entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 19, 1942, and served during
World War II. He received the Purple Heart. He
returned to Chicago, where he owned and operated a hotel.
He went into the trucking business in Oregon, California and
Utah. He married Marie T. Gorman in 1977 in Reno, Nev.
He retired in 1979 and the moved to Nampa.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Derron of
Nampa and Donelle of Los Angeles; a daughter, Denise of Los
Angeles; his mother, Gaynell Manning of San Francisco; two
aunts; and two uncles. Friends may
call at Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday.
