Bertha Ong
    Services for Bertha D. Ong, 87, of Pocatello, formerly of Nampa, who died Wednesday, Aug. 31, in a Pocatello hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, with Fr. James L. Pratt, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic Church officiating.
    Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    She was born Feb. 8, 1896, at Wheeler, Texas, to Zackery and Joanna Miller.  She was reared and attended schools in Wheeler.  She married John L. Ong on Oct. 3, 1911, in Wheeler, and they owned and operated a ranch there.  They moved to Nampa in 1942.  Mr. Ong died on April 1, 1954.  She moved to Midland, Texas, in 1960.  She had resided in Pocatello the past year.  She was a member of the Catholic Church and her hobbies were horses, rock collecting, fishing and crocheting.
    She is survived by four sons, Forest L. Ong, Roseburg, Ore., Lee Ong, Portland, Ore., and Gene and Ray Ong, both of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs. Leta Bohannon, Kerrville, Texas, Mrs. Neta Cole and Mrs. Darlene Banta, both of Pocatello; 25 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four children, one sister and four brothers.
