Carl Merrifield

    Graveside services for Carl A. Merrifield, 81, of Greenleaf, who died Sunday, April 12, at a Caldwell nursing home, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Greenleaf Cemetery.
    Pastor Reuben Beck of Boise will officiate, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Friends may meet at the cemetery.
Mr. Merrifield was born Jan. 4, 1906, at Smyrna, N.Y., to Allyn and Carlotta Covey Merrifield. He was reared and educated in New York and attended barber school at an early age.
    He married Mae Bacon July 20, 1934, at Fairhaven, N.Y. They lived in New York, where he worked with his brother-in-law as a mechanic. They later moved to Arizona, where they owned and operated a garage. In 1964, they moved to Greenleaf, where they had since resided.
    His hobbies included fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Phoenix, Ariz., and attended the Seventh-day Church of God of Caldwell.
    He is survived by his wife of Greenleaf; a son, Harold Pratt of Cortland, N.Y., two grandchildren; two nieces; a nephew; and several cousins.
    He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call today until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Caldwell Flahiff chapel.
