Funeral services for Charles R. Nettleton, 89, Nampa, who
died Monday, July 1, at a Nampa hospital, will be held at 8
p.m. today, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Merle J.
Fisher, S.M. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary
Mr. Nettleton, a retired
district manager for the Bureau of Land Management, was born
Aug, 30, 1895, at Silver City, a son of Villo F. and
Margaret A. Joyce Nettleton. He attended school at
Silver City and Murphy and graduated from Boise High School.
He was a veteran of World War I. He was raised on his
family's ranch near Murphy and lived there until 1932.
He married Evelyn Kelly and moved to Seattle, returning to
Idaho in 1934. He then worked in construction near
Boise until 1936 when he joined the Bureau of Land
Management. He served in the Shoshone district and was
district manager in the Salmon and Idaho Falls districts.
He retired from BLM service in 1960 and has since resided in
Nampa. He became interested in Owyhee County pioneer
cemeteries and spent several years documenting and
renovating the cemeteries in Wagon Town, De Lamar, Fairview
and Silver City. He was a member of St. Paul's

of Reynolds Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
