Carl Newton
    Services for Carl T. Newton, 72, of Box 1136 Marsing, who died Thursday, March 24, at a Boise hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 10:30 am, Tuesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by Elders Charles Whipple and Don Nippert of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Nampa.  Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
    He was born Aug. 8, 1910 near Ava, Mo., where he was reared and educated.  He married Dallis Norman in Tigris, Mo., in 1930.  They lived in Ava before moving to Homedale in 1947.  They moved to Marsing in 1950 where he managed the Morfitt stores until his retirement in 1979.  Mrs. Newton died in 1973.
    He was the Charter President of the Marsing Lions Club, and a member of the Marsing Volunteer Fire Department.
    He is survived by one daughter, Wanda Carson, Meridian; his mother, Hattie Newton, Ava, Mo.; two brothers, Sidney Newton, Boise, and Luna Newton, Joplin Mo.; two sisters, Jewell Johnson, Ava, Mo., and Reba Ross, Kansas City, Mo.; two grandsons and two great-grandsons.
    Friends may call at the chapel from 5 until 9 p.m, Monday.  The family suggests memorials to the Marsing Senior Citizens Center.
