Funeral services
for Elva Gertrude Miller, 98, of Nampa, who died Thursday,
January 30, 1992 at a Nampa care center, will be conducted
at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 4, 1992 at the Alsip Funeral
Chapel, Nampa. Rev.
Lowell Byall, pastor of the Nampa First United Presbyterian
Church will officiate. Private
burial will follow in the
Kohlerlawn Cemetery,
Nampa.
Elva Gertrude
Miller was born on March 30, 1893 in
Shipshewana,
Indiana to Jacob and Polly Mishler
Miller. She moved
with her family to Colorado
in 1897 and on to Nampa in 1899 where her family homesteaded the Brandt place
on Eagle Heights, two miles from town.
She walked to
Lakeview school in Nampa through grade
school. She moved
into Nampa and completed her school graduating from
Nampa High. She
taught school for nine years and worked as the Nampa City
Treasurer for 26 years until retiring in May of 1957.
She was a member
of the Nampa First United Presbyterian Church and a charter
member of Chapter AX, P.E.O.
She is survived
by: A nephew and his wife, George & Marjorie Cervenka of
Mission Viejo, CA.
She was
preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
