Franklin Parsons
Memorial services for Franklin Murat Parsons, 71, of Nampa,
formerly of Garden City, Kan„ who died Tuesday, March 4, at
the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday,
at the Nampa Valley Christian Church. 1210 N. Middleton
Road. Sam Harsin, pastor of the
church, will officiate. Private family interment
preceded the services. Services and interment are
under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mr. Parsons was born on Dec. 8, 1914, to Elmer Wellington
and Mary E. Bobbitt Parsons, at Harper County, Kan., where
he was reared and educated. After his
schooling, he farmed with his parents.
He married Nellie Mae Stevens June 25, 1939, in Harper,
where they farmed. In 1969 they moved to
Wichita, Kan., where he was a carpenter and his wife
completed her education for teaching. In 1970, they
moved to Garden City, Kan., where he worked in construction
as a carpenter and painter. They
retired in 1985 and moved to Nampa, where they had since
made their home. Mr. Parsons was a
member of the Nampa Valley Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two daughters and their
husbands, Glennis and Lawrence Thomas of Anthony, Kan., and
Shiryl and James Scaggs of Meridian; a brother, John R.
Parsons of Kingman, Kan.; and five grandchildren, Kara
Thomas, and Jaime, Jared, Jeremy and Justin Scaggs, all of
Meridian. He was preceded in death by
his parents, a brother, and a sister.
