Lyle L. Olmsted
NAMPA — Funeral services for Lyle L. Olmsted, 59, 119 North
Ada, Nampa, who died very suddenly in a Nampa hospital
Wednesday, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Nampa
First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Charles E. Higgins,
pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Grady W. Cantrell,
district superintendent of the Idaho-Oregon district of the
Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Services and interment are
under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mr. Olmsted was born Sept. 2, 1916, at Pollock, S.D.
He was reared and attended schools in Carthage, S.D.
He married Myrtle Hanson Aug. 3, 1936, at Hurley, S.D.
Following their marriage they moved to Nampa where they had
since made their home. Mr. Olmsted was a building
contractor in the Nampa area for many years and retired in
1973. He was a member of the Nampa First Church of the
Nazarene, a charter member of the Home Builders Association
of Nampa, of which he served as president the first year,
and had been an active member since its inception.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Donavan
Olmsted, Riverside, Calif., and Larry Olmsted, Charlotte,
N.D.; his mother, Mrs. Nellie Olmsted, Boise; three sisters,
Mrs. Bernice Bould, Boise, Mrs. Lela Jackson, Milwaukee,
Ore., and Mrs. Donna Shoemaker, Fairbanks, Alaska; four
grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his father, William LeRoy Olmsted in
1956, and one son.
