Rosary for Michael James Ortivez, 30, of Nampa, who died
Saturday, June 7, near Nampa from injuries sustained in an
auto accident that same day, will be recited today at 8 p.m.
at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m.
Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church. The Rev.
Merle J. Fisher, S.M., will celebrate with burial to follow
at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
Mr. Ortivez wis born April 29, 1956, at Dalton, Neb., to
Juan Jake and Esther Vidales Ortivez.
He was reared and attended school at Gurley, where he lived
with his brother, Julian, who helped him through school.
He lettered in sports there and graduated from Gurley High
School in 1975. He then attended vocational school for
cabinet making at Omaha, Neb.
moved to Idaho in 1977. He was an employee of Sports
King Trailer Manufacturing, Nampa, and was a leadman there.
He was active in outdoor sports and
worked as a mechanic on automobiles as a hobby.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his mother of Nampa; five brothers, John,
Frank, David, LeeRoy and Carlos Ortivez, all of Nampa; three
sisters, Carol and Josie Ortivez and Jean Ann Vazquez, all
of Nampa; his godchild, Sofi Lee Salinas; and several nieces
