Maria Opp
Services for Maria Opp, 85, 2609 Sunnybrook Dr., Nampa, who
died Wednesday, June 1, in a Nampa hospital, will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church
with the Rev. Paul Riedel, pastor, officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Building of Reverence at the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Services under the
direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
She was born Nov. 12, 1897, at Fredonia, N. D., to Frederick
and Mary Wolf. She was reared and educated in
Fredonia. She married Simon Opp on June 13, 1916, at
Venturia, N. D., and they farmed there until 1944 when they
moved to Nampa to make their home. Mr. Opp died Sept.
1, 1967. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three sons,
Richard, of Roscoe, S.D., Ivan of Britton, S.D., and Walter
of Nampa; two daughters, Frieda Raile, Sioux Falls, S.D.,
and Valinda Binde, Ipswich, S.D.; eight sisters, four
brothers, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two
great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
and cousins.
She was preceded in death
by her parents and four brothers.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today from 4 to
9 p.m; Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 8
to noon and at the Zion Lutheran Church from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
