Marie Nelson
    Graveside services for Marie B. Nelson, 81, of Nampa, formerly of Melba, who died Sunday, Aug. 3 at a Nampa care center will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Melba Cemetery.
    The Rev. Terence Erbele, pastor of the Kuna United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.  Services and burial are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mrs. Nelson was born on Nov. 11, 1904 at Shambaugh, Iowa, to Frank and Sadie McClarnan Sloane.  At a young age she moved to Superior, Neb. with her parents.  They later moved to Albion, Neb. where she was reared and attended schools.  After graduating, she taught school in Nebraska for several years.
    She married Lester B. Nelson in 1925 at Albion where they made their home.  In 1936 they moved to Nampa.  They later moved to Melba where they farmed.  In 1959 they retired and returned to Nampa where they have since resided.
    She was a member of the Methodist Church.
    She is survived by her husband of Nampa; four sons, Lester B. "L.B." Nelson, Jr. of Danville, Calif., Daniel F. Nelson and Larry G. Nelson, both of Melba and Harley D. Nelson of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Marjorie J. Hoagland of Melba and Patricia J. Engelhardt of Nampa; two brothers, Melvin Sloane of Washago, Ontario, Canada and Frank Sloane, Jr. of Tacoma, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Clark, and two sisters, Maxine and Hazel.
    Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity or flowers may be sent.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m.
