Graveside
services for Nelda Irene Mitchell, 60, of
Caldwell, who died Friday, Feb. 26, 1993, at a
Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at 1:30
p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1993, at
Hillcrest
Memorial
Gardens,
Caldwell, under
the direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the First Christian Church, Caldwell, with Pastor
Larry Eyman officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Oct. 7, 1932, at
New Bedford, Illinois, a daughter of Claude R. and Cecile
Cynthia Robbins Nelson.
She was reared and educated in
New Bedford and graduated from Manlius, Ill.,
high school in 1950.
She married Clarence O. Mitchell on May 17, 1952, at
Long Beach,
CA, and the couple made their home in Illinois and
Idaho.
They settled in Caldwell in 1968.
The couple was divorced in 1980.
She worked for Kit Manufacturing for 26 years prior
to retirement.
Nelda was a member of the First Christian Church,
Caldwell, where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are
four sons, Randall L. Mitchell of Middleton, Loran R.
Mitchell of Caldwell, Bruce O. Mitchell and David A.
Mitchell, both of San Diego, CA.; a daughter, Cynthia Bums
of Caldwell; her mother, Mrs. Cecile C. Nelson of Walnut,
Ill.; two brothers, Perry Nelson in Texas and Michael Nelson
in Illinois; two sisters, Elaine Hewitt and Karen Nelson,
both in Illinois; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her father and two brothers.
Memorials may be
given to the First Christian Church, Caldwell.
Friends may call
today until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the
Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
