Graveside
services for Nellie Coles Mayfield, 87, of Greenleaf, who
died Sunday, November 1, 1992, at a Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at 10 a.m.
Thursday, November 5, 1992, at
Hillcrest
Memorial
Gardens,
Caldwell.
Reverend Kenneth
Pitts will officiate under the direction of Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, Caldwell. Family
and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Mrs. Mayfield was
born June 19, 1905, at
Champaign County, Illinois, a daughter of Martin Luther and
Emma Walker Sitts.
She was reared and educated In Illinois, Indiana and
Missouri.
She married John
Coles in Lamar, Missouri,
and he died in 1927. She
married Ray Mayfield on February 29, 1928, at
Lamar,
Missouri.
She moved to Wilder
in 1936 and has lived in the Wilder and Greenleaf areas
since that time.
She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and all kinds of
handiwork.
Nellie was a
member of the Greenleaf Friends Church
and was active in the Ladies Bible Study.
She is survived
by two sons, Harold Coles of Nampa, and Riley "Jack" and his
wife, Barbara Coles of Parma; two daughters, Mary Louise and
her husband, Don Emry of Boise, and Susie Mayfield in
Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2
great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; four brothers and four sisters.
The family
suggests that memorials be given to the
Greenleaf Friends Academy.
