Robert Myers
Robert Irving Myers, died peacefully at home, surrounded by
his loved ones, on Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, after a courageous
battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted
at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, 1996, at the: Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Burial will follow in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
He was a kind, strong and gentle man, loved by so many.
His wife, Estalene was the love of his life, and they shared
50 years of a close and joyful marriage. Her death
eight years ago left a huge void in his life. They
lived in Oregon for four years and in the Nampa, Caldwell
area for 49 years. His final home was a country
acreage in Caldwell where every year Robert and his sons and
friends would dig a goose pit and hunt Canadian Geese.
They would all meet at his home for coffee before and after
the hunt. Robert grew up in the
Grant, Nebraska, area. After leaving Nebraska and
moving to Idaho, Robert became a carpenter, learning many of
his skills from his Dad and he began to build homes.
His sons, Butch and Ron also followed in their Dad's
footsteps and became building contractors, learning their
skills from their dad. Robert thought it was a great
privilege to be able to construct a home for a family and to
get it just right for them. His quality and upstanding
honesty won him a fine reputation which his sons have
upheld. Robert was raised in the Methodist Church in
Nebraska. His actions reflected his strong faith.
His life was a blessing to his family and friends and was
greatly respected and loved. He will be deeply missed.
He was the perfect Grandpa, who always listened.
"We love you so Dad. May you know a part of you lives
on through us. You are the best."
He is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and
Marlene Myers of Nampa; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and
Frank Harris of Kirkland, WA; a daughter and son-in-law,
Bobbie and Judge Charles Hay of Boise; a son and
daughter-in-law, Butch and Terry Myers of Caldwell; a
sister, Ruth Davis of Nampa; 11 grandchildren; 7
great-grandchildren; and his com-panion and best friend,
"Snoopy." He was preceded in death by
his parents, Clarence and Mabel Myers; his wife, Estalene;
and his sister, Kay Martineau. The
family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mercy
Hospice Program, 1512 12th Ave. S., Nampa, ID 83686, or
