Ronald Pascoe
Funeral services for Ronald L. "Whitey" Pascoe, 78, of
Nampa, who died on Friday, April 6, 1990, at his home
following an extended illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m.,
Tuesday, April 10, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel with the Rev.
Joseph Housh, pastor of the Nampa First United Methodist
Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Ronald L. "Whitey" Pascoe was born on Oct. 1, 1911, at
Darby, Idaho, the eighth child of William R., Sr. and
Christine Geisseler Pascoe. In 1916, he, along with
his family, moved to Nampa by covered wagon. The
family homesteaded south of Nampa. He was reared and
educated in Nampa. He was married to
Ellen M. Hamilton on Jan. 18, 1936, at Boise. He
worked for the J.C. Sewell's produce in Nampa until 1940,
when they moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where he worked for
the Golden State Lumber Co. He later operated a
service station and repair garage for the lumber company.
At the beginning of World War II, he
worked at the Terminal Island shipyards in San Pedro,
Calif., as a welder and leadman in the plate shop.
After the war they returned to Nampa to make their home.
He worked at the Union Pacific Fruit Express Shops in Nampa
for 32 years, having retired on June 4, 1976. He was a
member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church and the
T.C.U. Lodge No. 6404. Ronald was a
devoted husband and a caring father whose great joy was
hunting, fishing and camping with his own family and with
his sisters, brothers and their families.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Ellen M.
Pascoe, Nampa; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Glen
Massengale, Boise; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron J. and
Norma Pascoe, Middleton, and Bill C. and Annette Pascoe,
Nampa; a sister, Frances Tullis, Nampa; a sister-in-law,
Vera Pascoe, Marsing; nine grandchildren; six great-
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and
three sisters. The family suggest
memorials to the Mercy Medical Cen Home Care or Hospice
Program 1512 12th Ave. Road, Nampa 83686, or flowers may be
sent.
