Samuel Olson
    Samuel A. Olson, 90, of Glenns Ferry, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994, in a Mountain Home nursing home.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.  Graveside services are scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, with Rev. Truman Parker officiating.
    Sam was born Nov. 28, 1903, at Genoa, Neb., a son of Andrew and Mary Larsen Olson.  He married Martha Schultz on Aug. 6, 1924, at Julesburg, Colo.  He farmed in Nebraska until 1934, when they moved to New Plymouth, Idaho, where they farmed until 1945.  They then moved to Nampa where Sam worked as a carpenter in the construction industry for many years.  He later moved to Glenns Ferry, where he had resided for the past five years.
    He was very active in the Carpenters Union, holding the office of president as well as other offices.
    Sam loved the outdoors, and spent much of his time hunting and fishing.
    Survivors include a son, Ralph and wife, Dena Olson of Mountain Home; three daughters, Margorie Lorraine Pearce of Grangeville, Phyllis and husband, Don Kom of Glenns Ferry, and Carol and husband, Monty Bloomfield of Caldwell; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a son, a daughter, a brother and five sisters.
    Friends may call Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.
