Thomas G. O'Brien
NAMPA — Mass of the Ressurection for Thomas G. O'Brien, 64,
Nampa Route 1, who died Thursday evening at a Nampa
hospital, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St.
Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev., Patrick J. Coyle, S. M.
Interment will be at Mt. Calvary
Cemetery. Rosary devotions will be recited at a p.m.
Monday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mr. O'Brien was born July 15, 1909 at Plainville, Kan.,
where he attended school until moving with his family to
Nampa in 1923. He then attended Nampa Schools. He
married Leona M. Geise July 11, 1940 in Nampa, where they
made their home. He had worked for the Union Pacific
Railroad for 45 years, retiring in 1972 due to failing
health. He had more recently-farmed for 14 years while
He was a member of St.
Paul's Catholic Church, a member of Sheetworkers Local No.
213, and a former member of the. International Brotherhood
of Firemen and Oilers.
his wife, of Nampa; one son, David J O'Brien Omaha, Neb.;
one daughter, Mrs. Marcia Ostyn, Nampa; two brothers, James
O'Brien of Boise, and Louis J O'Brien of Kennewick, Wash.;
six sisters, Mrs. Nora A. Doherty, San Francisco, Mrs. Mary
Overy, Nampa, Mrs. Magdeline, Thompson, Concord, Calif.,
Mrs. Josephine Sellick, Willows, Calif., Mrs. Patricia
Ransom, Caldwell, and Mrs. Nellie Armbruster, Scottsdale,
Ariz.: and five grandchildren. His parents. one
brother and one sister preceded him in death.
