Violet Nelson
    Services for Violet Nelson, 90, of 1108 13th Ave. S., Nampa, who died Monday, July 25, in a Nampa nursing home, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, with Bishop Kenneth Ashcraft of the Nampa Sixth Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating.
    Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    She was born Dec. 4, 1892, at Escalante, Utah, where she was reared and educated.  She married David Rulon Nelson in 1911 at the Salt Lake City, Utah L.D.S. Temple.  They made their home in Driggs, Idaho, for a number of years.
    In 1926, they moved to Nampa to make their home.  Mr. Nelson died in January of 1972.  She had been a very active member of the L.D.S. Church.  She served as relief society president, was active in the MIA program and she and her husband served a mission at McDermitt, Nev.
    She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Marcelle) Johnson, Fruitland, and Mrs. Ray (Rhea) Rackley, Lake Oswego, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Maud Taylor, Rexburg; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
    She also was preceded in death by five sisters.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel until 9 tonight.
