Monroe
Wilbur T. Monroe, 75, of Nampa, died Monday, August
19, 1996, at home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August
22, at Hillcrest
Memorial
Gardens,
Caldwell.
Arrangements are under the direction of
Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Nampa.
Wilbur was born
September 17, 1920, in
Newcastle, Wyoming, a son of Zachary T. and Beulah V.
Tate Monroe. His
family moved to Caldwell in 1934, where he graduated from Caldwell High School in 1940.
During World War II he served in the 25th Field
Artillery Battalion, in the European Theatre from 1941 until
1944. Wilbur married
Loris C. James, of Nampa, on October 19, 1947, in Winnemucca, Nevada.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years
retiring in 1974.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Loris; a daughter,
Katie Leonard and her husband, Kent of Nampa; a son, Mark
Monroe and his wife, Patti of Kuna; two granddaughters,
Kasey Leonard of Nampa, Missy Monroe of Kuna; two grandsons,
Troy Monroe of Kuna, Jason and his wife, Carrie Monroe of
Nampa; one great-grandson, Cody Monroe of Nampa; three
sisters, Elvina Fairbanks of Star, Mary Ridder of Boise, and
Rose Sisk of Sun City Center, Florida.
He was preceded
in death by his parents.
