Donald Pooley

     Services for Donald Awood Pooley. 52, of Nampa, who died Friday, Dec. 26, of natural causes at a Boise hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Nampa 5th-7th Wards Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Bishop Kenneth Wheeler will officiate.
    Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mr. Pooley was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Dupree, S.D., to William Jay and Mazie Josephine McCartney Pooley.  He moved with his family to Nampa in 1944, where they farmed.  He was reared and attended schools in Nampa and Kuna, graduating from Kuna High School in 1954.
    He married Helen Grigg on Sept. 3, 1954, in Nampa.  He was employed by the Davey Tree Co. in 1954 and later transferred to Montana and worked for that company there until suffering an accident in 1959 that broke his neck.
    Following his recovery, they returned to Nampa, where he operated the Richfield service station on 12th Avenue Road.
    He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and working with horses.
    He was a member of the Nampa 5th Ward.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two daughters, Colette Nonenmacher of Boise and Cathy Mann of Nampa; three sons, Gale Pooley of Boise and Duane Pooley and Trent Pooley, both of Tuscon, Ariz.; three brothers, Orval, Robert and Howard Pooley, all of Nampa; four sisters, Bernita Miller and Velda Miller, both of Dupree, and Loretta Kapp of Eugene, Ore.; Geraldine Anderson of New Castle, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, a sister, a nephew and a great-nephew.
    Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa, and after 12:15 p.m. at the church.
    Memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund of the Nampa 5th Ward; or flowers may be sent.
