NAMPA — Funeral services for Donald
C. Preston, 53, of 703 S. State St., Nampa, who died very
suddenly in a Caldwell hospital Saturday, will be conducted
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Nampa Seventh Ward, Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunnyridge Road, with Bishop H.
DeVon Jensen officiating. Interment will follow in the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mr. Preston
was born October 1922 at Burley. He was reared and attended
schools in Declo. He served for four years in the U.S.
Navy during World War II. He was married to Nola Griffin
Nov. 28. 1947 in Elko, Nev. Their marriage was later
solemnized in the Salt Lake City, Utah, L.D.S. Temple in 1948.
They lived in Burley after their marriage and later moved to
Boise. They moved to Nampa six years ago where he worked
as a produce manager at the Nampa Safeway Store. He was
a member of the Nampa 7th Ward, L.D.S. Church, and was a
member of the Quorum of Seventy in the church.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Dan C. and
James C. Preston, both of Nampa; one daughter, Louise Preston,
Nampa; four sisters. Mrs. Wallace (Minnie) Jibson, River
Heights, Utah, Mrs. Arthur (Robina) Widman, Burley, Mrs. Wayne
(Fern) Hess, Goldendale, Wash., and Mrs. Floyd (Connie)
Calkins, Boise. He was preceded in death by his parents,
two sisters and one brother. Friends
may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel Monday, Tuesday and until
noon Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until service time at the
church. |
