Graveside funeral services for
Delbert L. Powers, 61, of Nampa, who died Monday, Feb. 1,
1988, at his home, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Feb. 8, 1988, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Rev. Joseph Housh, pastor of the Nampa First United Methodist
Church will officiate. Friends are asked to meet at the
cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Delbert L. Powers
was born on Nov. 28, 1926 at Rulo, Neb. to Robert and Hattie
Powers. At a young age he moved to Kearney, Neb. with
his parents where he was reared and educated, graduating from
Kearney High School.
schooling, he started working in the construction business.
He later entered the U.S. Army and served during WWII.
He was honorably discharged and returned to Nebraska.
He married Mardell Roberson in 1947 at Holdrege, Neb. In
1956 they moved to Twin Falls. He later owned and
operated several used car lots. He retired and has
resided in Nampa since. He enjoyed fishing and
Delbert is survived by two
daughters, Louise (Mrs. Lee) Gepford, Nampa, Linda (Mrs.
Patrick) Place, Roseburg, Ore.; four grandchildren, Robert and
Shelly Gepford, both of Nampa and Jason and Jackie Place, both
of Roseburg, Ore.; one sister, Nellie Strong, Caldwell and two
brothers, Forrest and Lester E. Powers, both of Caldwell.
