Dell Precht, 73, of Nampa, died
Wednesday, August 3, 1994, in the Nampa hospital. Vigil
services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 5, at
Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa. A funeral mass
will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at St. Paul's
Catholic Church, Nampa, with the Rev. Father Alfred Puccinelli,
S. M., is the celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount
Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
Dell was born
September 23, 1920, at Payette, a son of Herman L. and
Kathleen Shelton Precht. He was raised and educated at
Payette, graduating from Payette High School in 1938. He
married Marge Meechan June 8, 1943, at Payette and they lived
there until he entered the U.S. Army on September 14, 1943.
He served during the remainder of World War II, and was
stationed overseas in India in 1944-45. He was
discharged on December 6, 1945. They made their home in
Payette until he became a federal meat inspector in 1959 and
they moved to California. They returned to Idaho in 1961
and made their home in Nampa. He retired in 1984.
He was a life member of Napa Lodge No. 1389, B. P. O. E., and
had been a member fcr over forty years; a member of the John
H. Murray Post No. 18, American Legion; and a member of the
American Federation of Government Employees Lodge No 2223.
Dell enjoyed reading and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Marge of Nampa; two sons and their
wives, Bill and Barbara Precht of Caldwell, Jack and Peggy
Precht of Nampa; three daughters and their husbands, Judy and
Clinton Wissel, Linda and Jim Swain, and Kathy and Lee Sommer,
all of Nampa; two stepbrothers and their wives, James and Pat
Connolly of Lilliwaup, Wash., and Jack and Lu Connolly of
Sultan, Wash.; two stepsisters and their husbands, Jo and
Robert McNeil of Seattle, Wash., and Jill and Robert Hanigan
of Payette; four sisters-in-law, Mary Davis of Payette,
Colleen and her husband, Mike, of Bellevue, Wash., Marilyn
Meechan of Yakima, Wash., and R'lue Meechan of Eugene, Ore.;
ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, an infant son, one brother and one
