Dee was born in Nampa on March 18, 1948.  He attended Nampa High School and graduated in 1966.  After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he attended Boise State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.  He went to work for law enforcement with Ada County where he was a Patrolman, Detective, Investigator for the Prosecutor's Office and at the time of his death he was the Undersheriff.  Dee received his Master's Degree in Public Administration from BSU where he also taught classes in Criminology.
Everyone who knew Dee was touched by his concern for people.  He balanced the requirements of being a competent law enforcement officer with the empathy and understanding for people of all walks of life.  Dee was committed to his work and in helping anyone in need.  His greatest love was his family.  He loved to spend his spare time entertaining family and friends at his home.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family and loving daughters.
We know we put you through some hard times, but your strength,
patience and love always prevailed and helped to pull
everything together.  We feel that we were especially
close to you toward the end and for this we are very
grateful.  We love and will miss you Dad, but knowing you
are in the presence of the Ultimate is comforting and we
look forward to sharing this with you someday.
    We love you, Daddy!
