Funeral services for Harry Nelson
Phillips, 67, of 615 Diamond St., Nampa, who died Monday,
Sept. 20, 1982, in Huntsville, Ark., at the home of his
daughter, will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alsip
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ken Morrison, pastor of the
Karcher Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment
will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
He was born June 14, 1915, at LaPorte, Ind., to Homer and
Florence Phillips. At the age of 9 he moved to
Fullerton, Calif., with his family, where he was reared and
educated. He married Viva C. Richardson on Feb. 29,
1936, in Yuma, Ariz., and they resided in Fullerton.
During WWII, he was an inspector in an aircraft manufacturing
plant. After the war, he went to work for the Southern
California Edison Company. He then moved to Huntsville,
Ark., where they lived until 1954 when he returned to
Fullerton and the Southern California Edison Company. He
retired in 1973. They moved to Nampa in
1977 and he went to work with his son-in-law at Shuttercraft.
They had resided in Nampa since. He is survived by his
wife of Nampa; two daughters, Mrs, LeRoy (Gail) Rose, Nampa,
Mrs. Clifton (Judy) Gabbard, Huntsville, Ark.; one son, Craig
Phillips, Fullerton, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Wentworth,
Fullerton, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Higgins, Bakersfield, Calif.;
eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death
by three sisters. |
