James 'Jess' Piersol

     James W. "Jess" Piersol, 82, of Nampa, died Saturday, January 18, 1997, at a Nampa hospital. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 21, at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Nampa.  Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
    Jess was born Sept. 27, 1914, at Dilworth, Minn., a son of Jacob W. and Marie Englstead Piersol.  He was reared and educated at Dilworth.  On February 16, 1934, he married Lydia Koenigs at Dilworth and they made their home there until 1935 when they moved to Nampa.  Jess has farmed and lived in Nampa ever since.
    Survivors include his wife, Lydia of Nampa; a son, Darrell Piersol of Nampa; and a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Marvin Frasier of Eagle; a brother, Ralph and his wife, Sylvia Piersol of Dilworth, Minn; and a sister and her husband, Irene and Harley Bryson of Moorhead, Minn; eight grandsons and seven granddaughters, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rick and Jim; a daughter, Cynthia Dalrymple; one brother and two sisters; one grandson and one granddaughter.
