Robert Pierce

     Graveside services for Robert L. Pierce, 81, of Milton-Freewater, Ore.. who died Friday, July 10, in a Walla Walla, Wash., hospital following a long illness, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Roswell Cemetery, Roswell, under the direction of Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, Milton-Freewater.
     Mr. Pierce was born Nov. 3, 1905, at Roswell to Lee and Luella McLaughlin Pierce.  He attended school in Arena Valley.
    He married Blanche Riggs March 27, 1926, in Wilder.  They made their home in Milton-Freewater, where he worked for the city as an electrician.  He advanced to an electrical engineer and then to head of the electricians' department.  He retired after 28 years with the city.
    They moved to Pakistan, where he worked as an electrician for three years before returning to Milton-Freewater.
    Mr. Pierce enjoyed oil painting and reading.
    He is survived by his wife of Milton-Freewater; three sons, Ronald Pierce of Boise, Larry Pierce of Touchee, Wash., and Robert Pierce Jr. of Beaverton. Ore.; three daughters, Ramona (Mrs. Oscar) Kelly of Spokane. Wash., Muriel (Mrs. Guy) Jonas of Seattle, Wash., and Janice Clayton of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Marshall Pierce of Boise; a sister, Alma (Mrs. Ernie) Crouse of Bruneau; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
