Services for Sarah Ann Plager, 84, of
Caldwell and formerly of Parma, who died Sunday, March 23, at
the Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at
2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma.
Pastor Paul F. Evans of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community
Church will officiate. Burial will follow at the Parma
Cemetery. Mrs. Plager was born May 4,
1901, at Trinity, Newfoundland. She came to the United
States as a young girl to live with an aunt in New York.
She married John H. Plager June 9, 1919, at Hoboken, N.J.
They made their home near Parma, and farmed until 1951, when
they sold their farm and retired. They
moved into the city of Parma in May of 1968. Her husband
died in November of 1968. She continued to live at Parma
until September of 1985, when due to ill health she moved to
Caldwell to the home of her daughter.
She was a member of the Parma Kirkpatrick Memorial Community
Church and had previously been a member of the Rebekah's and
of the Grange. She is survived by two
daughters, Agnes Wood of Caldwell and Lucille Kinnear of Kent,
Wash.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Plager, and
a grandson. |
