Cecil Raney

    Cecil Allen Raney, 69, of Sunny Slope, died Sunday, April 14, 1996, at his home of natural causes.  Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 1996, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
    Mr. Raney was born August 14, 1926, at Mountain Grove, Missouri, to Frank L. and Maude Ann Harral Raney, where he was raised and educated.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He married Virginia Smart May 27, 1947, at Yakima, Washington, where they lived for a number of years.  Later they moved to Kellogg, Idaho, for a period of time before returning to Mountain Grove.  In 1956 they came to Caldwell where they had since resided.  He had worked for the Symm's Fruit Ranch since that time.  Mrs. Raney died June 16, 1972.
    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Marge Raney of Greenleaf, ID.; 2 grandsons, Greg and his wife Gena and their son Tyler Allen Raney of Marsing, ID., and Jeff and his wife Lisa and their daughter Taylor Nichole Raney of McCleary, WA.
    He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
