Elva Reid

     Services for Elva Reid, 76, of Nampa who died Saturday, Aug. 9, at home, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    The Rev. Terence Erbele, pastor of the Kuna First United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
    Mrs. Reid was born Aug. 12, 1909, at Meridian, to Guy and Josie Remington.  She moved with her family to Texas and finished high school and attended college there.  She began to teach in Texas after completing her schooling.
    She married V. Charles Reid Nov. 17, 1935, in Wichita Falls, Texas.  They moved to Nampa in 1935 and she taught speech and drama in the Nampa school district.  She retired in 1969.
    She was a member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church.
    She is survived by her husband of Nampa ; a son, Col. Robert H. Reid, M.D., of Kensington, Md.; a daughter, Beverly Cratsenburg of San Clemente, Calif.; a brother, William S. Remington of Nampa; two sisters, Florence Makinson of Lewiston and Mamie Graf of Vallejo, Calif.; a granddaughter, Lisa Rebeck of San Clemente, Calif.; and a grandson, Robert Reed of Kensington.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Emmett and Dell Remington.
