James Radford

     Memorial services for James J. Radford, 83, Nampa, who died Thursday, March 21, at a Nampa, hospital, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at the Nampa United Presbyterian Church, 400 Lake Lowell Ave., with the Rev. Lowell Byall officiating.  Interment will follow in the Court of Reverence, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, at a later date.  The family will greet friends at the church following the services.
    He was born on Sept. 25, 1901, at St. Joseph. Miss.  He married Nellie Page Browning on Feb. 2, 1924, in Caldwell, and they made their home in Nampa.  He worked as a car distributor for the Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years.  He was a co-founder of the Idadiv Federal Railway Credit Union in Nampa and was active in the credit union movement in the western U.S.
    He is survived by a son, Dr. Richard L. Radford of Calistoga, Calif.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  His wife preceded him in death.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Nampa United Presbyterian Church, and friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
