    To Slope Youth

Jack Whitman Is Killed
Instantly at San Diego
Saturday Evening

SUNNY SLOPE (Special) - Jack Whitman, about 24, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor of the Sunny Slope community, was instantly killed in an automobile accident at San Diego, Cal., late Saturday evening.  A companion of the young man, who was riding with him in the rear seat of a Chevrolet sedan, also lost his life in the mishap and the driver of the car is in a precarious condition in a San Diego hospital.
Young Whitman was graduated from the Caldwell high school a number of years ago and until three years ago lived with his parents at Sunny Slope.  He has been employed in San Diego since he left Caldwell.
Surviving Whitman besides his mother and step-father are two sisters who reside in San Diego, Mrs. Bob Runyan and Mrs. Jack Shroeder; two half sisters, Pearl and Belva Taylor and a half-brother, Ray Taylor, all of the Sunny Slope community.
Mrs. Runyan and Mrs. Schroeder will accompany the body of their brother to Caldwell for burial.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
