Lloyd Allison Sr

    Services for Lloyd E. Allison, 72, Rt 2, Caldwell, who died Tuesday at his home, will be conducted at 11 am Friday at Dakan Chapel, Caldwell by the Rev. Stanley Banks, Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell. Private interment services will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    Lloyd was born May 18, 1900 at Elkhart, Minn, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Cora Luretta Shoup Allison. At the age of 2, he moved with his family to Boise, and lived in the valley until 1919, when he entered the Army. He served as a gunnery sergeant in the infantry at Ft. Benning, GA until 1923. On June 25, 1924, he married Golda Ruth Brown in Caldwell, ID. They lived in Hammett for a year before returning to Boise. He helped organize the Co-op Oil Association, and worked in the organization for 13 years. He also helped organize and was a charter member of the Co-op Federal Credit Union, Canyon County Grange Credit Union, where he held the office of President-Director for 22 years.
    He was a member of the Oregon Trail, Center Point, and Fargo Granges, served of a Master at all three Granges, and was a Past Master of Canyon County Pomona Grange, holding the sixth and seventh degree. He served as a Canyon County Week Control Board Commissioner, also served on the fund board for Caldwell Memorial Hospital, and was Canyon County Assessor from 1963 to 1970, when he retired.
    He was affiliated with the Methodist Church, and had lived the past 30 years in the Center Point Community.
    Survivors include his wife, Golda of Caldwell, three sons, Lloyd E. Jr., of Nampa, Jack B. of Jerome, and Ralph Roger of Lewiston; seven daughters, Dorothy Kennelly and Lora M. Schwartz of Kennewick, WA, Ruth A Robertson and Barbara L. Hume of Caldwell, Martha J. Taylor of Columbus, OH, Shirley C. Presnell of Lapwal, Hester M. Wamstad of Davenport, WA; three sisters and two brothers; thirty-six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, a sister, and a son preceded him in death.
    Memorials may be given to Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell, or a favorite charity.
    Pallbearers: Honorary: Matthew Maxwell, Dan Cowling, Sam Foote, Bruce Markus, Pete Hammon, Russell Fivecoat. Active pallbearers: Charles, Martin, and Mike Allison, Steve and Edward Kennelly, Larre Robertson, and Robert & Bradley Allison.
    Lloyd married Golda Ruth Brown on 15 Jun 1924 in Caldwell, Idaho. They had eleven children: Dorothy Kennelly, Lloyd Elwyn "Al" (1926-2011), Jack B. (1927-1989), Ruth Robertson, Roger, Martha Taylor, Robert "Bob" Q. (1931-1955), Barbara Hume, Shirley Presnell, Hester Wamstad, and Lora Swartz.
    Lloyd served in the Army from 20 Dec 1919 to 28 Mar 1923.
