Ray S. Rector, 87, of Nampa, died Friday,
March 22, 1991, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law
in Nampa. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, March 27, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel. The
Rev. Orval Halley, pastor of the Fairview Church of the
Nazarene will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Randy Herman,
associate pastor of the Fairview church and the Rev. Jim
Chandler of Nampa. Burial will follow in the Hil1crest
Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Rector was born Jan. 24, 1904, at Stamford, Texas. At
the age of 7 he moved with his family to California.
He was reared and attended school in Madera and Chowchilla,
Calif. He married Grace Bigelow June 4, 1923, at
Mariposa, Calif. Following their marriage they made
their home in Chowchilla where they farmed until his
retirement in 1964. In 1966 they moved to Nampa to
make their home. His wife preceded him in death Dec.
7, 1988. He was a member of the Nampa First United
Ray is survived by
his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Clarence Burk,
Nampa; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Georgia
Rector, Hayward, Calif. and Ormond and Doris Rector, Menlo
Park, Calif.; three grandchildren, Lorene and her husband,
David Embree, Richland, Wash., Steve and his wife, Kelli
Burk, Nampa, and Tim and his fiancee, Susanna Won, Seattle,
Wash.; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister in 1988 and a
grandson, R. Wayne Burk in 1974.
