Raymond Delbert Robinson, 82, of
Nampa, died Tuesday, April 18, 1995, at the Nampa hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April
22, 1995, at the Nampa 12th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, 1500 Smith Ave. Ext. Bishop Ward
Stauffer of the Ward will officiate. Burial will follow
in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Services
are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Ray was born on August 28, 1912, in Thatcher, AZ, the fifth of
nine children born to Orson and Kathryn Horn Robinson.
His family moved around all over the West, spending time in
Utah, Neva-da, California and Idaho as well as Arizona.
He went to high school and worked with his dad in Los Angeles,
In 1931, he married Violet Milton
and they had two sons, Don and Lynn. Ray was a
photographer and they lived in Payette, ID, for several years.
In 1945, he joined the Navy and worked in the microfilm
section in Washington, D.C., Boston, MA, and Sandpoint, ID.
He married Hazel Judd on October 1,
1945, and they moved to California, where they raised their
six children, Sheila, Ray, Sharon, Sandra, Kathryn and
Christine. Ray really enjoyed photography and had a
photograph studio for several years. He was also a
cartographer and in 1948 began a map business in Los Angeles
which was successful for 40 years until he was forced to
retire because of his health. He had lived in Nampa
Ray loved swap meets,
traveling, tomatoes, the ocean and beach, and babies.
Nothing made him happier than watching and playing with his
small children and grandchildren. His greatest love was
his family. He loved to give gifts, and delighted in
making Christmas a magical occasion for his family.
Ray is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Hazel Robinson
of Nampa; seven children and their spouses, Don Robinson of
Los Angeles, CA, Sheila and Ray McGee of Nampa, Ray and Teresa
Robinson of Boise, Sharon and Dave Shea of Placitas, NM,
Sandra and Jim Christensen of Yerington, NV, Kathryn Robinson
of Boise, Christine McMichael of Nampa; two brothers, Boyd
Robinson of Los Angeles, CA, and Doug Robinson of San Diego,
CA; two Sisters, Dona Johnson of Boise and Helene Phillips of
Tempe, AZ; 22 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; three brothers, Patrick, Joseph and Isaac Robinson; a
sister, June Judd; and a son, Lynn Robinson.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Midland
Care Center employees for the tender loving care they extended
to Ray during the two years he resided there.
