V. Charles Reid

Funeral services for Mr. V. Charles Reid, 83, of Nampa, who died Friday, March 4, 1988, in a Washington, D.C., hospital where he had had surgery and then had a stroke, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Housh, pastor of the Nampa First United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
    Mr. V. Charles Reid was born June 24, 1904, at Licking, Mo. where he was reared and educated.  He married Elva Remington Nov. 17, 1935, at Wichita Falls, Texas.  Following their marriage they made their home in Nampa.  He worked as a house painter for a few years before going to work as a custodian for the Nampa School District, retiring in 1968 after almost 30 years of service.  His wife preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 1986.  He was a member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church.
    He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. Reid, M.D. (COL, MC) and Vivien Reid, Kensington, Md.; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and T.J. Cratsenberg, San Clemente, Calif.; a granddaughter, Lisa Rebeck, San Clemente; and a grandson, Robert Reid, Kensington.  He was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
